If you know how to write a good article that’s able to rank high at the search engines, you’ve almost done with every effort to get a lot of visitors to your website, and make a serious income online. However, most of the people are just wondering, why they well-written, quality articles receive only a few visitors from here and there. So here are the reasons, why your articles get almost no traffic and here are the 3 most important tips, how to avoid them:

Tip 1 – Keyword research

Many of the online marketers just misses out the most important part of article marketing: They simply ignore the keyword research or don’t do it properly. Don’t forget, your goal is to get as many visitors to your articles as possible for free. Now what’s the easiest way to get free visitors? Yes, exactly: Search engines!

Your primary goal has to be to rank high for specific keywords which are related to the topic you are writing about. To be able to reach top positions, you have to choose less competitive keywords, but with at least a little demand on them. You can use Google’s or Wordtracker’s free keyword tools to research the popularity and competition of the various keywords, so you can choose the ones that are easy to beat. Once you have done this, you have to build your article around these keywords. But watch out for not using them too often! It’s enough to use them once in the title and 2-3 times in the body part.

Tip 2 -Title

If your article is at one of the top positions on the search engine’s result page, you have to create a good title to attract the searcher’s interest. People are searching the net, because they have problems, so they will only click on titles, which can solve their problem! Use titles that grab their attention and promise to solve their problem (but don’t scam them!), like:

“How to get rid of…”

or: ”4 Solutions for…”

Tip 3 – Writing a good resource box

You write articles, because you want to promote your site or an affiliate link, therefore it’s not enough to simply write a good article. Your reader should click on the link in your resource box, so you really have to give them a reason for doing so.

There are basically 2 ways to reach this:

1.Offer a relevant product to them, which can solve their problem IMMEDIATELY!

2.Offer more tips or articles on your website

Whatever solution you choose, your resource box should be short, and should include a “call to action” section at the end.
